Author Guidelines
Submissions are accepted throughout the year.

Manuscripts:
  • must be original and not previously published online or in print.
  • include an abstract (not to exceed 250 words) and keywords.
  • only accepts Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx) version of submission.
  • no particular requirement on the length of manuscripts, but 3000 to 8000 words are better, including endnotes and bibliography.
Submission
STSL Press accepts the submission of Original Paper, Book Review, Case Report, Short Communication, Interview paper, Short Research Article and other types of articles.

Manuscript Elements
Take Original Paper for example, the manuscript should include the following elements:
  • Title
  • Author’s name and institutional affiliation
  • Abstract
  • Body
  • Tables & Figures (insert into the body)
  • Acknowledgement (not necessary)
  • References
  • Appendix (not necessary)
  • Title
  • Title should summarize the main idea of the whole manuscript, concise and unique is also important. The first letter of each notional word should be written in a capital letter.
  • Author’s name and institutional affiliation
  • All the authors’ names should be shown in the manuscripts. The preferred form of an author’s name is first name, middle name and last name without any titles (e.g., Dr., Professor) or degrees (e.g., PhD, EdD).
  • The institutional affiliation identifies the location where the author(s) was or were when the research was conducted, which is usually a university or an organization. The component parts should include corresponding address, zip code, city, country, telephone number and email address.
  • Abstract
  • Abstract is a brief, comprehensive of the contents of the article, so it should be accurate, coherent, concise and nonevaluative. Besides, it should not exceed 200 words. After the abstract, 3 to 8 keywords must be listed.
  • Body
  • In an original empirical study, body usually consists of introduction, method, result, discussion and conclusion. If authors need to use tables/figures toilluminate research result, the tables/figures should be inserted into the body.
  • Tables
  • Tables should be placed with the first reference to them in the body of manuscript. With regard to the format of table, you should put table’s caption before the table body and table note. Moreover, avoid submitting image version, because image version is hard to re-edit.
  • Figures
  • Figures should be placed with the first reference to them in the body of manuscript. You should put the figure’s caption and description below the figure body.
  • Acknowledgement
  • As an author, you are free to decide whether you need this acknowledgement part or not.
  • References
  • References acknowledge the work of previous scholars and provide a reliable way to locate it. The references cited in the manuscript should be sufficient to support the need for your research and to ensure that readers can place it in the context of previous research and theorizing.
  • Appendix
  • Usually appendix is not necessarily. Include an appendix only it helps readers to understand, evaluate or replicate the study or theoretical argument being made.
Turnaround Times
We aim to inform authors about the screening process within two to three weeks and of a final decision on publication within one to two months of submission.

Rights for Authors
Authors retain copyright for all content published in STSL journals. However, authors grant to the journal the right to publish the article under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) license and to make available such content, in any format, in perpetuity. Authors may reproduce, in other contexts, content to which they possess the copyright, although in any subsequent publications STSL journals should be acknowledged as the original publisher.
